WAC Fundraising NewsThe Weare Athletic Club fundraising helps to keep our registration fees low. Our primary fundraiser is the Fall Calendar Raffle during Soccer Season. We do our best to see that proceeds from our fundraising go directly into the programs and that "prizes" etc to back to the participating individuals. We generally do not go through third parties where you end up paying a premium for the products such as "candle", "magazine" or "cookie dough/pie" type fundraisers. Spring 2009 RaffleThanks to those of you who supported our registration fee waiver raffle during the Spring 2009 baseball season. We raised over $500 which will be matched by the Emma Sawyer Trust, bringing the total to over $1000. Fall Calendar RaffleIn this annual fundraiser, we sell "Calendars", really just an entry form, for $5 each. Then for each day in a subsequent month, usually October, we draw a name from the entries. Depending on the day, the winner recieves between $25 and $100. The winning entry is put back into the mix, so it is possible to win more than once with the same ticket. At the end of the month to reward the sellers, three tickets are selected, and the person who sold the ticket will win. Two are $50 winners, and one will win $100. Each player will recieve an envelope with 10 calendars at the beginning of the season. Additional calendars can be obtained from any coach. Past FundraisersIn 2007, we did a fundraiser in conjunction with the NH Fisher Cats, in this case we purchased a quantity of tickets which we sold at face value. (About 50 of the tickets were actually sold at $2 less than face value.) The Fisher Cats gave us a $3 discount per ticket. We got to parade around the outfield before the game and our organization was announced at the beginning of the game. We sold approximately 250 tickets and raised approximately $600 after expenses.
