Meeting Minutes for 6/17/2010 - Start time 6:30pm -Public Comment - Attendees were interested in hearing more about the openings and about helping out. -Treasurer's Report - Approved - TD Bank is requiring that our account number change. Sandy will discuss reimbursement for checkbook. Sandy will sign up at TD Bank to support the Weare Historical Society. -Review of previous meeting minutes - There have not been meetings for the past couple months. We agreed to have our next meeting on July 12 at 6:30 at the WMS Library. Director Reports: -Soccer - Need a director elected, need registration dates selected and need to advertise the dates - We elected Ariana Roy as Soccer Director. Registration dates are June 24th and June 29th from 6:30 to 8:00 at the Weare Middle School Library. Jen Scott will reserve the library, Cindy will try to get the info on the Weare channel, Craig email blast to baseball list and we asked everyone to spread the word. Ariana to work with Bruce to get ready for registration, sponsors, coaches meeting, league meetings, field clean up and refs. -Basketball - Cindy is getting the gym time reserved, looking into reversable uniforms, trophies and new balls. -Baseball - Craig said there were 314 kids this year. All Stars is starting up and there will be a 5 town jamboree over the summer. Craig will look to gather trophies to try to re-use them for next year and some equipment will need to be replaced. Over the summer we will need to overhaul Bolton Field for the new field size. Tee Ball benches were donated. We will look into putting a dumpster at Purington Field. We need to find someone willing to handle preparing the med kits for the different sports. There were a higher than usual number of disgruntled parents, people causing issues and complaints. This lead to a discussion of an ethics policy. See below. -Softball - Need a director elected - Karyn Stogner was elected first ever Softball Director. -Elections - Eric Penafiel and Paul Massaro were elected as Directors-at-Large. Arian Roy was elected Soccer Director. Karyn Stogner was elected Softball Director. Holly Innerfield was elected Vice President. Dawnelle Sohl was elected Secretary. Other Business: -Skills Day - Update and Action Plan - Mark will look into setting this up with JSRHS as community service options for senior projects or team projects. Mark is also looking into putting on a "Coach Smart" class for coaches. -John Stark Awards Night - Applications were reviewed, winners were selected, checks were cut and presented. -Background Checks - I spoke with Demian and he emailed me the spreadsheet he has and will let me know when he finds the hard copies. We may start a new file of hard copies with Soccer. -Weare Field Scheduling Meeting on Tuesday March 9th at the Town Offices with Mike Housman - Scheduling was a success -Tax Filing - Done -Website wearenhfun.com - A community website for fun things offered in Weare - Pam Stone - We will try to find someone to interface with Pam to update the site with WAC events. -Website weareathleticclub.com - Interest in managing the website - Chris Dakoto's name was mentioned as a possibility. -New Business Concessions - Holly mentioned that she will ask about Community Bridges staffing the Concession stands during events. WAC Sportsmanship Award - We discussed promoting sportsmanship in a more visable manner. Options are having one player per team getting an award at the end of the year, having smaller recognition on a per game basis, having refs/umpires give out awards and other options.
